About the role

We are looking for a hands-on Accounting Manager to join our Dutch branch. In this role, you will lead our accounting team and oversee financial processes for a dynamic portfolio of innovative clients. Working closely with colleagues in the Netherlands and the UK, you will combine technical expertise with strong leadership to deliver high-quality financial services.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading a team of experienced accounting professionals, fostering expertise and accountability and client service excellence

• Oversee the financial processes for our clients regarding accounting, payroll, monthly- and annual closing

• Address complex accounting, valuation, and tax-related matters

• Conduct periodic reviews of closings to ensure compliance and quality standards

• Support client onboarding and setup of financial processes

• Contribute to cross-functional projects focused on automation and process optimization

• Compile annual financial statements (NL-GAAP) and safeguard year-end reporting quality

• Managing the corporate income tax process and ensuring timely, compliant execution

• Support with external audits by coordinating requested documentation, leading technical discussions and driving an efficient audit process

What you bring to the table

• Educational Background:

  • HBO Accounting or equivalent

  • Has 3+ years of proven working experience in a similar role as Account Manager in an accounting firm (MKB/ non-audit, audit experience a plus)
    

• Experience:

  • Proven experience managing a team

  • Experience with various reporting and accounting software (Exact Online primarily)

  • Experience with complex funding structures, equity arrangements, and subsidy accounting

  • Solid understanding of Dutch tax regulations (VAT, CIT, Payroll Tax)
    

• Skills:

  • Affinity with technology and a passion for supporting cutting-edge start-ups

  • Ability to work autonomously with a focus on output and deliverables

  • Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English

  • Able to liaise with stakeholders both internally and externally

  • The ability to work both in a team and independently, self-starter and high on follow up
